I started updating my daughters’ room last year with a new wallpaper accent wall, but the room still needed an area rug. I wanted something with a neutral pattern that would pair well with the wallpaper, and I found a beautiful handmade rug from Revival Rugs that is perfect!
I have some very exciting news to share! We are expecting another baby girl – and she’ll arrive in just a couple months! I’ve been in serious nesting mode for the last couple weeks – and I’m sure it will get even more intense over the next month or two. One of those nesting projects is creating a farmhouse nursery for our newest little one! Â It’ll be interesting to try and complete some last minute house projects with my big baby belly in tow 😉
This is week 5 of the One Room Challenge hosted by Calling It Home. Taking on this 6 week challenge has been so much fun and definitely challenging! Things are getting really real – as in there is only 1 week left until the reveal! It is time to wrap up all of my projects and start putting everything into place. I am so excited to finish this space and give my daughter her own “big girl” room. We just celebrated her 3rd birthday so it is perfect timing for this room reveal!
It’s no secret that I’m a thrifty gal who loves an awesome deal. I love to scour thrift stores for treasures, browse discount stores, and find freebies from friends and neighbors – like this awesomely free dresser! When we had a friend offer us a free twin bed (with a practically brand new box spring and mattress!) I was super excited. My husband Nic can vouch for my unashamed giddiness over scoring freebies. What can I say – I love a great deal!
We recently moved our 2 year old daughter into her own room and she is pretty excited about it! She loves having her own space and having a place to hoard her hundreds of stuffed animals (do stuffed animals have a magical power to multiply overnight?! I don’t know how our children have acquired so many!). Her room definitely needs some modern farmhouse style, feminine touches, and furniture as well. One of the biggest changes will be giving up her toddler bed for a big-girl twin sized bed. Wait, she’s not a toddler anymore? Gah! I did not expect this to be an emotional room makeover!
