Porch Makeover Using Modern Masters Front Door Paint
Our porch was looking a little plain, and lacked contrast. I wanted to spruce it up with some contrast against the tan exterior. I have been loving black doors for some time now (I painted our front door in our last house black too!) and knew that black would pop against our house color.
When I first heard about Modern Masters paint I was intrigued! Their front door paint has a non-fading and quick dry formula that makes this project do-able in just a day! I was really excited to read that it is non-fading, because our front door is directly in the sunlight for the majority of the day.

What Kind Of Paintbrush Should I Use?
It is recommended that you use a larger paintbrush for this project (I used one similar to this!) for this type of paint. Using an angled brush will make it easier to get into those nooks and crannies that usually come with front doors.
What Kind Of Prep Is Needed?
One of my favorite things about this paint is that there is no prep needed! The only thing I did to prepare the surface was to wipe down the door with a wet towel to get of any dirt that was on the surface. After a quick wipe down I was ready to paint!
How Long Does It Take For The Paint To Dry?
I applied one coat in the color Elegant (a rich deep black) and was surprised at how fast the paint was drying! They aren’t joking when they say it is a quick-dry formula. I really appreciated this because I was trying to get the door painted during my daughter’s nap time!
It was dry to the touch after 1 hour, and they recommend waiting a total of 2 hours before re-coating. Later that evening (after the kids were asleep) I re-painted a second coat onto the door and witnessed the amazing second coat coverage! After the 1st coat it looked a little streaky (which is expected), and after the 2nd coat it was full coverage and looking amazing!
How Much Coverage Does It Have?
You can paint 80-100 sq. ft. with just one container of Modern Masters Frond Door Paint. It has great coverage and it really goes a long way! I love that it has such great coverage, so you can paint your whole project without running out of paint!
Where Can I Buy Front Door Paint?
Head over to Modern Masters and you can use their ‘Find A Store’ feature to find the closest store to you that carries it. I had quite a few stores within driving distance that carries the paint in-store.
