This fun and easy DIY Valentine’s Day Garland is so sweet for decorating for Valentine’s Day! Create this easy craft with a free Valentine’s Day printable & free SVG cut file!

Valentine’s Day is coming up, and I’m excited to start decorating! My girls love to celebrate Valentine’s Day with class parties and making valentines, so it is fitting to decorate for this sweet holiday. I’m going to show you how to make a DIY Valentine’s Day Garland that is super easy and simple!

I’m joining some fellow bloggers for a Pinterest Challenge hosted by Cindy at County Road 407. This month we are inspired by Jenny from Refresh Living and her Valentine’s Day garland. I love her spin on a neutral Valentine’s Day garland that will fit into anyone’s home.

I have been loving my Cricut machine for making projects like these DIY Christmas signs I made last year. This time I tried cutting shapes out of cardstock paper to make a Valentine’s garland. My Cricut Machine really came in handy for making the paper hearts! I was also inspired by Jess from Make & Do Crew with her sweet tiny paper heart garland.
And of course I’m providing you guys with a free SVG cut file & free paper heart printable so that you can create this same heart garland for your home! This craft project turned out to be super easy and darling, and would make a great project to do with your kids, too!

How To Make A DIY Valentine’s Day Heart Garland
First you will need to cut our your hearts. If you are going to be using a Cutting Machine you can download this free SVG cut file! If you do not have access to a Cutting Machine, no worries! You can download this free printable here, print them on cardstock, and cut out the hearts by hand with scissors. Either way you will end up with the hearts for your garland!
After you have all of your hearts cut out you will start assembling them. You will make a cut with your scissors halfway from the bottom of one heart, and halfway from the top of another heart. Then you will slip the two hearts together along the slits and they will fit together perfectly, making a 3-dimensional heart!

When you have all of your hearts assembled together, it’s time to start gluing them onto your string. I had some baker’s twine string on hand in my craft stash and thought it was sweet for Valentine’s Day! You’ll place a small line of glue along the inside of each heart and place the string on top of the glue. After the glue has dried you’ll be ready to display it in your home!

I displayed it along the wall above my buffet. It’s the perfect amount of neutral Valentine’s Day decor that makes my heart so happy! I love to decorate this wall in my dining room, because it is the hub of my home. We use our dining room for entertaining and for normal day-to-day activities with meals, artwork, coloring, and homework.
You could use any color of cardstock paper to make this garland! You could use a beige paper to give it a different look, or use pink or red paper to really give a pop of color and contrast!
