I’ve transformed a modern farmhouse dresser, a little side table, even some tile around my bathroom vanity! It takes very little prep work, dries super quickly, and has such a smooth application.
We moved into our fixer upper 7 months ago, and when we first purchased the house I knew that the front door wasn’t my cup of tea. I’d love to eventually replace the door with something different, but for now paint will totally transform the look of it!
I didn’t like the red/maroon color against the brick on our front porch, and thought that some contrast would make it pop! Our shutters along the porch are black (with some peeling paint) so I knew that painting the door black would tie it in with the rest of the porch.
The only prep work I needed to do was to clean the surface with a lint-free cloth. I used a microfiber cloth and some water to clean off the dust before getting started. Then I used this staalmeester brush to apply 2 coats of Fusion Mineral Paint in the color Coal Black.
Now I’m LOVING how our front door looks! The black color totally pops against the brick and makes the door look more modern. I’m so happy with how it turned out!
