Hello, friends! I’m so excited to share with you one of my favorite sources for modern farmhouse lighting! The last few years I’ve been loving the classic look of schoolhouse lights. They can add so much character to a space!
I first purchased one of these schoolhouse style lights a few years ago for one of our houses, and I immediately fell in love with the shape and style. It definitely brings some modern farmhouse style which is exactly what I’ve been loving lately!
Our fixer upper that we recently purchased has been going through some big transformations lately! Our half bath was one of the more ugly spaces because all of the walls and ceilings were painted brown, and there was some ugly tile to deal with. Both the floor and the backsplash for the vanity were covered in tile that I wanted to get rid of right away.

The lighting was also a problem for me too. I really didn’t like the bathroom light over the vanity, it was outdated and kind of ugly! We also had a kitchen chandelier (yes, a chandelier in the kitchen!) that I really wasn’t a fan of, and wanted to replace. I was so excited when Lamps Expo reached out and offered to send me some brand new lights for this space!
Here are some photos of our old lighting before we replaced them:

When I started browsing their huge selection of lights I was super excited to see what a great selection that they have! They seriously have just about anything you could ever want for your home. I had a hard time picking because there were so many amazing choices to fit my modern farmhouse style.
I finally decided on this schoolhouse vanity light for our half bathroom, and this schoolhouse flush mount light for our kitchen. The style and shape of the lights have a classic vintage feel that I have come to love and appreciate. The vintage feel goes so well with the modern farmhouse style!

Before we installed the light in the bathroom we painted the walls in Silver Drop by Behr, changed the mirror, updated the tile, and I painted the backsplash white as a temporary fix. This gives the backsplash a brand new clean look without having to remove the existing tile and replacing it. The bathroom is looking bright and modern now!
In the kitchen we still have a lot of work to do, as we are planning to do some renovating. Changing the light from the outdated chandelier to this beautiful schoolhouse style light is our fist step to updating our kitchen! I love how it makes the space feel larger and is more our style!

I’ll be keeping you all updated on our other projects as we complete them! I just finished lime washing our fireplace and love how it turned out!
