Easy DIY Farmhouse Candle Holders

This is an easy way to create a matching set of farmhouse candle holders!

I am so excited to share how I updated some mismatched candle holders to make them look like a set of farmhouse candle holders! The best part is that this project was completely free because I already had all of my materials on hand. I love when I can repurpose items by using materials I already have in my home!

A few months ago I had been eyeing a set of beautiful white candle holders, but couldn’t justify spending the hefty price tag for them.  Then I remembered that I had a couple sets of candle holders in my office that I thought I could give a little makeover to. After I painted and sealed them, I am totally loving how they look together! By painting them all the same color they look like a set and match better with my farmhouse decor.

First I cleaned the candle holders by using a towel to get off any dust or dirt. Then I painted one coat of this decor paint and let it dry.

After applying the second coat of paint and allowing it to completely dry, I added a coat of this clear coat. I definitely wanted to protect the paint from chipping during use (and to protect them from my 4 little ones!).

Now these mismatched candle holders look like they belong together, and coordinate with my farmhouse home decor! I’m so excited that I was able to give them new life and repurpose them for a different area of my home.

I picked up this striped table runner and pink flower picks from the Hearth and Hand collection at Target. I highlighted some of my favorite items from the spring line here – so many beautiful items were released recently!

Do you have any mismatched candle holders in your home? By painting them all the same color you can group them together and have them coordinate as a set! They are such a decorating staple that can be used in so many different areas in your home. You can display them on a coffee table, tray, bookshelf, on top of cabinets, and on a dining table as a centerpiece! So many great options to bring some visual interest to the space you choose to display them in.

I hope you enjoyed learning how to make these easy DIY farmhouse candle holders!
