While cleaning my office recently I found a clipboard that was looking pretty sad and in need of some chalkboard paint. I feel like chalkboard paint can help re-purpose so many things! I’ve added it to wood slices, ornaments, trays, and now a clipboard to give it a new life.
This chalkboard clipboard can be used to hold important papers, photos, your grocery list, and many other things! If you don’t have anything you want it to hold, then you can simply write notes on the chalkboard. I love items that are multi-functional!

Materials:
– Clipboard
– Chalkboard Paint
– Paintbrush
– Magnets
– Hot glue gun and glue
– Computer and Home Printer (optional)
– Paint Pen (optional)
Instructions:
First you will need to paint your clipboard with your chalkboard paint. To paint the part underneath the clip I held the clip open with one hand and painted underneath. I waited a few minutes for it to dry and then let go of the clip. This type of paint dries very fast!
Then you can add words to your clipboard by printing the word using your home printer, and then shading the back of the paper with a pencil.
Flip the paper over and tape it down and then trace the word with a pencil. This transfers a pencil outline of your word onto the chalkboard.
Then you will trace it with a paint pen to finish it.
Next you will add a magnet to each corner on the back using a small dab of hot glue. Now you can attach it to your refrigerator for easy access!
If you’re like me and are always looking for a place to jot a note or stash a coupon for your trip to the store, this will be convenient and handy place for that purpose. Our kitchen is the hub of our home where so many things happen and this clipboard chalkboard can help things run more smoothly!
Have you ever repurposed something in your home? I really enjoy giving things a new purpose!
