I have always loved decorating for holidays year-round. My mom used to have a cute little shelf in our kitchen, and with each holiday she had sweet little hand-painted wood decor pieces to display on the shelf. A little Christmas tree at Christmas time, a painted egg for Easter, a turkey for Thanksgiving, and so on. For the months of June and July I remember setting her sweet little American Flag on the shelf. It was such a nice little reminder of the upcoming holiday, and it kept my brother and I excited about each new season.
For Father’s Day this year I wanted to create something sentimental that my kids could create themselves. I have always loved reading the hilarious answers that our daughter gives when she has done questionnaires at school. It is so funny to hear children’s opinions and observations about their parents – they are usually brutally honest and hilarious at the same time 😉
Today I’ve got a super quick and easy craft to show you! I’m always amazed at how satisfying it is to create decor with very little time and money. This DIY Patriotic wreath is so easy and simple to make, and you literally only need two materials! Whaaat? No, it’s not too good to be true 😉
Easy and simple DIY projects are right up my alley. Like this super easy hoop wreath that I put together last week while completing my very first one room challenge. I wanted to create a wreath with a simple color scheme by only using some greenery and an embroidery hoop. Just the simplicity of having the green and wood tones really appealed to me, and really fit the modern farmhouse feel of my daughter’s new room. Three of these wreaths only took me about 10 minutes to complete – I call that a win!
It’s here! It is the big reveal day for my little girl’s modern farmhouse bedroom and I’m super excited to show you how it turned out! After 6 weeks of preparation, planning, dreaming, shopping, and lots of DIY projects – her bedroom is finished. I’m loving how everything came together, and she’s pretty smitten with it too! When she first walked in she genuinely said “Wow, I love it! It’s soo beautiful. Thanks Mommy!” Um .. heart melted 🙂 Participating in the One Room Challenge with Calling It Home this spring has been so fun. I’ll definitely be joining in again in the near future!
